Super 35 sensors

The Mark Vb Directors viewfinder will give you readings for a number of digital sensors within 10% of a given lens focal length. To achieve this, set the aspect ratio ring to 16X9 and read the 35mm window. The finder is now set for Super 35 and this setting is also true for the following digital camera sensors: Arri Alexa, Sony F35 PL, Sony F65, Red Epic-X, Red Scarlet, Red One, Canon 7D, and the Phantom HD Gold.

Smooth zooming from wide angle to telephoto. Focal lengths are viewed in windows located on the barrel of the viewfinder. The zoom range for the various formats is as follows:

Adjustable Aspect Ratio Ring

You may adjust the viewfinder to the aspect ratio that is appropriate for you film or video application. Available aspect ratios are: 1.33:1 standard TV, 16×9 HDTV, 1.85:1 standard 35mm ratio and 2.40:1 anamorphic wide screen, also known as Panavision or Cinemascope.

This is an ideal lens on our Sony F3 for budget or doco shoots…plus superb on Canon HD-DSLR’s with one of our nikon-canon adapters. With it’s manual iris and fast F2.8 speed it is a great lens with it’s range of 28–70mm. Very nice shallow focus on the F3 and Canon 7D.

With the beautifully dampened iris , silky smooth Iris pulls are possible. A real fixed focus cog  and focus stops on the lens means repeatable  focus pulls are possible. We’ve had the infinite rotating focus ring stopped.

We used these lenses on Kaitangata Twitch and Resorvoir Hill..both international award winning drama shows.

They have a nice gentleness to their look.

With the smooth Iris you are able to do iris pulls..not possible on std SLR primes. The uniform front  hood on each lens means you are not always adjusting the matte box for each lens change .

Use them on the letus 35mm adapators, DSLR’s and the  SONY F3 – or any camera with Nikon/Canon mount.
